Is there a button to invoke go-around procedure in FMS? I know it's in the briefing before landing, but it's all of sudden to switch the plane from landing to staying in the air so it would helpful, I guess.

Wait i thought that Jeff Bezos was pushing to install fully Automated Alexis\Hal Co-Pilots and just take the human out of the Cockpit, and they will only fly AI passengers in Stimulated Situations and only when class action lawsuits have worked there way thru the Appeals Process through Executive Order and that will be likely a ten year appeals process, i can hear the cheering already you thought it would take 15 years, with new Procedures in Washington it getting down to only a Decade, let's book those flights now and hope for Favorable Court Decisions , yay Progress, by the Way this Pilot was Awesome, the whole Team is awesome

Joe, I worked with lots of helicopter bush pilots here in Canada. More than a few noted they would drop down and go slow along the deck in poor vis. If needed they would even open their door, drop stones and watch how far they go before hitting ground. And of course, full stop hover to just buy “thinking” time to plan the next move. Awesome analysis, could you do one for the recent crash in Indonesia? I can't remember the flight number, but it was only a few weeks ago, and at this stage, the cockpit voice recorder hasn't been found, only the data recorder. Cheers, David.

The biggest problem with the 'Western Economic System' is that investors and fund managers want the CORPORATIONS to deliver perpetual increasing profits. They are not happy with a consistent annual profit. Each Quarter, Each year 'has to be bigger, better and more profitable than the previous. This leads to short-cuts in many areas, and sort cutting in , R&D, and manufacturing. When the need for perpetual Economic 'growth' is eliminated and the associated 'Greed' safety will improve. Also, instead of fining the CORPORATIONS, shut down their entire operation for 12 months. Seize their assets and use those to pay the employees (excluding Executives) at least 75% of their income, a salary for the shutdown period. Executives i.e decision-makers to receive $0. They have earned enough to survive, where many of the victims of their decisions did not survive.

Shout out to the rescue swimmer underneath the helicopter that flew into powerlines! They were quick with that release. I'm assuming that charge could have potentially traveled down the line & severely injured them.

I think that Jet engine is hanging from a wing that is full to the top with Jet Fuel and as he said the engine is still receiving fuel and is on that makes for a real cliff hanger time.....we explode or we don't explode in a fire ball...WOW !...wonderful crew...front to back...

Okay Mr. knowledgeable German Capt. Joe pilot. That definitely understands the wave definitions of light. You are light years beyond most people's knowledge. Except. The picture of you against your white background. I find to be, set to an exposure value of 100% white. Of course by a German. And it's really hard on the eyes. Because it shouldn't be, 100% white. It should be 80%. This also causes you to be somewhat overexposed stage right, viewer/audience left. And your exposure causes eye fatigue. This does not help your ratings nor viewer numbers. Because you seem like a relatively charming Kraut. But your exposure like Hitler's. Is overblown. And could use some, vertically polarized light. Or perhaps just a pin spot splash of light. On the wall behind you. That is darker. Which I have had to do digitally. For other videos. That looks similar to, yours. Because it's hard on the eyes, otherwise. And we don't all wear our blue blogger classes in front of our big-screen LCD's. When we are taking in some relaxing viewing. And your exposure should not be this overly brash. Now you don't have to believe me, Sonny boy. But I used to work for NBC-TV for 20 years. 20 years ago. And so I know a few things about lighting for TV. It's kind of like piloting a 747. Instead of a DC-3. Kind of like a Volkswagen beetle compared to a NASCAR race car. Kind of like a 4 time major music award nominee. Like myself. Compared to Billy Bob in his basement recording studio. People like myself are stickler for details. Kind of like airplane pilot captains should also be. With their exposure. To their jet engines. And self produced video productions. You want 100% at take off. You don't want 100% video all of the time. That's like full throttle the whole way there. Great if you're trying to break a speed record. Or just breaking a record. Because the song is crap. Both are breaking records. But they're not the same. There are many different kinds of records one can break. Some break jet engines and still land. Some don't land. Some just become, the land. And rather quickly I might add. When I crash and burn. And I have many times. I get to live through it. Because then all people say is. That was really a shitty sounding mix, Remy. Yes I know. I smoked too much. I get to live and smoke pot to record rock 'n' roll another day. And nobody gets hurt or killed. No matter how bad my mixes crash and burn. Coast-to-coast. Or around the world. All live! With my dead sounding mix. Shit! CUZ it's only a Graceful Dead, cover band. And just not my favorite mixing style. I've done plenty. It's fun. It's sloppy. It grooves, something. Certainly not the tarmac. In some kind of iconic ironic something or other. I just push up the faders for broadcast. And try to keep it from crashing and burning. It really does look like a 747 cockpit. This is just from a Monday night impromptu spontaneous recording of a rehearsal. I really didn't set up anything for recording. It was the microphones I had left out from the previous evening's show. When I rolled on this rehearsal without the band knowing it. There are 2 full separate drummers and drum sets. They were breaking in a new drummer. For an extended tour. And an extra keyboard guy. Not everything is fully MIC'ed up. It is what it is. I was watching a TV show in my control room. While I was rolling on this. Not paying full attention to this live 2 track stereo mix. It's just all in good fun. And sounds like this: and you can see my control room looks like a 747 cockpit. I wasn't kidding. I have designed plenty of other cockpits over the years. Similar but different to this. Larger ones. Smaller ones. Some in real control rooms. Or like this one in a truck. This is in a truck. This is in my truck. This is in one of the best remote recording trucks, in the world. That I built. 30 years ago. And still kind of, sort of, still, exists. But now is being, reoutfitted. For its fourth upgrade and build out. To take it through its next 10 years may be 20. Does Pratt & Whitney make microphones? What about those British Rolls-Royce microphones? RemyRAD

This was a false flag event. Jet engines have fire suppression sys in case of engine Failure. The wings hold ALL of the fuel so a fire there is never good. Also, how would the face cowling fall off intact without being shredded or at least BREAKING in half??? the cowling is riveted to the engine across the entire face, for that to happen it would have to shake all of the rivets loose and somehow come forward over the engine against the force of the Wind.... Doubtful. Seem more of a coded comms.. * Engine Failure on the Right Side. *

First, a small nit, Captain joe is really a first officer. A captain has 4 stripes on his shoulder bars, a first officer has 3. Having said that, as a retired United Captain and 9 years of experience on the 777, his analysis of the event is spot on. In emergency situations as a captain,you want to keep the big picture/ situational awareness so most likely once your assured the aircraft is not in immediate danger, you will turn the flying duties over to the first officer so you can coordinate with ATC and the cabin crew. The first priority would be to turn away from the Rocky Mountains and return to the airport. You don’t want to run into the side of a 14,000 ft mountain while running checklists. Then do your checklists to shutoff fuel and hydraulics to the engine. Most likely the aircraft was over weight for landing but I’d be surprised if the Captain with an engine still burning bothered with the overweight checklist as it basically says if you have time, dump fuel, if you don’t have time, land softly. An over weight landing isn’t a big deal as long as you land normally. All in all, the crew did an excellent job, it’s what we train for.
