In this Cesar911 Episode, I help a family with an over excited 5 month vizsla who has been causing chaos in their home.
The family is scared for the safety of the children in the house and may need to give their dog away.
Learn how to set rules, boundaries, and limitations early in order to prevent unwanted behaviors and habits for the future!

Does Cesar have the magic touch or something?? I tried this exact method with my puppy and she still bites me. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

It's leadership energy and dogs pick up on it very quickly. The sooner you establish leadership, the sooner the biting will stop. The reason why it's so important is because you want her to CHOOSE to listen to you. Not through bribes / treats or anything. Simply because it fixes virtually every behavioural issue you can think of, and allows you to build amazing bond with your dog. You can find a walkthrough on this if you Go,ogIe the term below

What's bad is, the human who cannot teach/train the dog to have boundaries/rules/limitations. Then the dog misbehaves and the human blames the dog and the breed. That's why pitbulls have a bad name.

It's noone fault especially people want to blame everything on the owners when clearly they are NEW OWNERS give them slack and inform them as this family seeked help! People change just as dogs behaviors can. Stop the toxic cycle that everything has to be blames on something or someone cuz life isn't like that at all

I certainly wouldn't be taking away food if your dog is already chewing it. Food is food. I'd work on the "leave it" ( in other words, don't touch that ) command BEFORE it gets into his mouth. If you're out walking and he's eating pizza off the street, then about the only thing you can do right now is for you to see the food before he does and leash guide him away from the street ( Speaking of that, an acquaintance 'lost" her dog to that exactly - eating pizza off the street - because the pizza had mushrooms on it and she didn't see it - well, she wasn't watching. Dog died. PS: I take "items" out of my GSD's mouth that aren't for eating but when I give him food, then I mean he can eat it. I would think that MY dog would eat my fingers, too if I was trying to take food away from him from his mouth. I'm not sure I'd want someone taking actual food out of my mouth either unless I was choking.

My daughters grandma on her dad's side one of her grandma's on his side I should say she has many lol anyways she got a puppy pit lab mix after her husband had an accident in the beginning of COVID when he got out of the hospital a month later she got her dog, names Lucy and she acts the same way but worse she refused to train refuses to do anything about it and tells the dog she didn't mean to because she's a puppy and praises her bad behavior exactly like this! I'm gonna go up there this week and try some of the things he's done in this episode and see what happens. I'm so done with that dog and everyone who lives up there tells her everyday to get rid of the dog to someone who actually can have time for her and train her and give her the time of day and exercises she needs but no she refuses and makes excuses and she's in complete denial about everything it's so annoying because she's trained dogs before and has had many different breeds from poodle to black labs to yellow labs and they have high energy as well, and pits and many many other breeds so I know she can do it. She's just too old and lazy now to actually do it and she thinks it's okay and will work itself out like no. The dogs almost a year old now super huge now, one day I walked in after not being there for a month without my daughter thankfully and forgot they had her I walked straight in oblivious to her presents and she came straight to me jumping biting clawing my back legs face in just the 4 seconds I had walked into the house it's the worst situation I've ever seen a dog in besides when my neighbor illegally had aggressive pits and they attacked my fur baby and he passed years before. Legit I'm so over this dog and all of the adults in the house besides my daughters grandma has agreed to get together with her and tell her we are getting the dog a new better home where it will get it's needs met ect and the dog has attacked my daughter before and my husband has had to unfortunately beat the dog off of her. She came out with a few bleeding scratches thankfully no bites that were bleeding or anything but we took her to the hospital and did call it in and nothing ever came of it so since then I haven't taken her up there I've always left her at home safe with her dad while I went up or I'll be home with her and my husband goes up to their house it's that bad. And they also have a child in the house that she allows to mess with the dog since she was a puppy and bites him because he's super mean to her and she's growing to not like children I think because of him and his crap he's put onto her without reproductions from his dead beat mother she's not a mom she's a terrible person who leaves her kid with his grandma which is my daughters grandma also and just a whole story with that for another day but yeah the situation is so bad no one wants that dog around whatsoever and the kid also needs home training and actual love and unfortunately he's also not getting that unless my husband and I watch him or come and hangout with him with our daughter. Which was a lot before the dog got way bigger :( so that's just also preventing him from getting what he needs, his mom lives there also she's an addict still unfortunately. My husband and I are ex addicts so I know what she's going through but it's still no excuse at all!

Hi Cesar, my puppy is 9 weeks and she does this too. I’m going to try this but do I need put lids on the food containers? She also growls at me and snips and barks. Her mom was a mix Shepherd, Burmese, and Rottweiler she also jumps at me showing her teeth and growls and barks she does this to my legs when she’s off leash in the back yard she even does this to my hubby. I’ll definitely try this with her food. Thank you!

Hi! This is just random food that he's training them with right, not the food you actually feeding them right (their dog food)? But I guess it doesn't matter, it would go towards that food also right? I have a Lab mix (I think with a Pitbull) and she is doing the same exact thing at 3 months and she's broken the skin just a little with all of us in the house.

I have the same breed mix as you do. Same age as well. Lol. Also, same EXACT issues that are featured in this video. I’m very confident that the sound and poke is going to help, but we have to remember to start with the food part first. I’m going to use a different food than his meals. Cesaer’s confidence and quickness to correct, the sound and poke, is the key. And patience. I’d sure like to know if these methods work for you and your dog. I’ll let you know as well. Cheers and good luck.

For every new dog owner… you have to commit to training I mean fully commit to exercise and training not just buying a cute puppy and Hoping it’s a great fit for kids. They are a TON of work in the beginning and most people are absolutely not prepared or willing to do what it takes…just dump them off to the shelter. Adopting a dog is usually one of these dogs that were dumped.

Bro, they got a Vizsla. My neighbour has a Vizsla. He would walk that dog one hour in the morning. Then go jogging with her for an hour and a half in the evening. And then right after the jog, she would run sprints around her backyard and bark at my dogs. Those dogs are **EXTREMELY** active. To a point where you have to walk them for over 2 hours a day, and for some Vizsla dogs that's still not enough exercise. Vizsla's are extremely athletic. Edit: Actually I can see her right now from my upstairs window doing laps in her backyard. lol

Vizsla are originally hunting dogs and I have seen them as well as a cousin of the breed the Rhodesian ridge back become great obedience and trialing dogs what you have written is just a case of someone not training their dog and in the case of the puppy not knowing how to train and socialise a puppy. What milan did has nothing to do with both just a simple trick you can teach any dog in five minutes which has nothing to do with informing the owner of the dog what they actually should be doing.

Ikr! We only have a little Bedlington cross whos 10 years old and we walk him 2/ 3 times a day for a good 3 hours in the morning at 8 am then a hour or so around 5pm and he still has energy when we get back from the walks😂 I don’t think a lot of people realise how much physical exercise their dog actually needs to stay fit and happy

Oh yeah it took a lot to get our dog(Vizsla) to stop jumping, and he got viscous when getting garbage or stuff he shouldn’t have. As a puppy he chewed up everything, electronic cords, everything. Turns out he stopped getting in trouble after making sure he got a LOT of exercise Really really sweet dog though, I’ll miss him forever. He got lung cancer, all excited and active until one day suddenly and he just wouldn’t stand up, his lungs were 90% cancer, no clue how he remained so active until the very end

I believe so too but I think the problem is there is overpopulation of dogs cat and other animals in shelters that instead of focusing on finding the right owners that they are mostly focused on emptying their shelters. So many of these animals have a chance to find a home in this disorderly way than the right way :/

In a few weeks I am gettign my first dog. Very exciting of course, but this is exactly what I was thinking. I've done a lot of research on breed, training etc. But I'm aware that research is not the same as being in the monent 24/7. So I'm a bit nervous, as I want to train my dog propperly for the sake of both. Ofcourse I know I'm going to make mistakes too, but having some training/dog handling licence in advance would be so great.

Tr T we that is all typical puppy behavior. Just search KZhome for videos on how to correct whatever behavior you need to correct. “How to stop puppy biting” “how to potty train dog” etc. German shepherds are beautiful dogs but you need to put in more work with them than your typical dog. Most of the time you are reinforcing the bad behavior without realizing it.

Hi Cesar. I liked your video and understood your focus on boundaries and discipline. But I still don't get how to address puppy-biting for a teething puppy? PLEASE HELP ME OUT - I've got a 2.5 month old Golden Retriever male pup who's very much into biting as he's teething. We have plenty of chew toys, plenty of chewable treats; but they're just not enough to stop him from digging into all household items/stuff he finds on the ground/clothes/slippers/shoes/our hands, etc. He even bit my grandfather which is a step too far and which sort of made us all angry, but we need to make him understand the things he's doing wrong in a polite way.

Supervise him WHENEVER he is out of his crate so you are watchful and ready to reinforce. Giving puppy too much freedom sets them up for failure. If your two eyes can't be on him and ready to catch him in the act, bring him to the crate until they can. Exercise him well and really tire him out each time he gets rambunctious, but if he is unusually unresponsive to commands, this may mean the opposite (he is overstimulated) and needs to decompress.

When she said she did her homework about which dog to get for her family, uh, not sure what it involved because if those dogs are that hyper they need to be running in the country on a farm, not in a house in the city. Good luck with your training, I hope Cesar can make this work for them, the family is so attached now. Seems to me she’s trying to make the breed fit her life.

Don't kid yourself, they clearly didn't properly research how to raise a dog like this and they were in the wrong but if that dog became a danger to the family it's the right choice to give it away. Humans and your family need to always be held at higher value than pets and ironically enough not doing so is what plays a part in the pets picking up bad habits in the first place.

@ThatBugBehindYou give it away and never get another dog back you mean, otherwise, the story will repeat itself with many other dogs; some people should refrain from having dogs if they will insist on being lazy and remain ignorant.

@Stephanie Clark Yes, but people will never simply do that, I imagine they'd just get a smaller dog and the dog would be terrible because of them but it wouldn't be able to cause the same amount of damage and while that isn't a good thing it's still better than this.

Obviously I’m not Cesar but I’d say that as soon as your dog does it immediately say no, stop and using the same assertive manner tell them to sit. Wait until they relax then move on.

I have a malinois and it's completly normal for puppies to bite because their teeth are itching while they are growing, but I didn't have any problems teaching him boundaries and how to behave, constant training is key with high energy dogs and working dogs, my mal is extremly trained and I have full trust with him, hate it when people get dogs but don't do research on them and you need to be the leader for your dog and not let the dog be a leader even if it a pomeranian and not to talk about bigger breeds.

How is it possible to get dogs the exercise they need when ? How do you explain to some people that it’s better to let go of the dog then keep them restricted from running around and having to keep up with these type of breeds . They deserve moreb
