I admire your work, not just because I love animals, which I truly do, but because I suffer from anxiety, depression and fibromyalgia and your videos help me! It’s hard to explain, but I love how you treat the sheep and the Alpaca’s and I see your kindness, it’s also very soothing to see the work and how happy they must feel after all that wool is taken off. Just wanted to praise you from your work and your wife’s work! Amazing!

@SimbaShe wasn't yanking on that animal, she (sheep) was startled by her touching her face and moving the wool from her eyes. If that animal was in pain then we would have heard her or had her actually struggle more then a startled flinch. She's admitted in the past that she's not the strongest person and some of the rams in the past could have broken free from her hold if they really wanted to.

I’m fairly certain it’s called a blink reflex, most animals with eyelids have it. What’s really cool is when animals with nictitating membranes use them cause you can still see their eye. But yeah no, most creatures have a blink reflex to varying extents.

I can't imagine being a "prey" species and not being able to see "danger"
shadowsinmymind92 ай бұрын
This isnt normal for wild sheep. Wild sheep have hair like a goat's but when people domesticated them and bred them for generations they developed this wooly textured hair and people kept and bred these ones so that they could use them for their wool
Michelle Frank2 ай бұрын
@shadowsinmymind9 thank you for the info. I do believe that even though sheep were bred to create wool, they still have the instinct to flee danger. If they can't see it, they can't protect themselves
shadowsinmymind92 ай бұрын
@Michelle Frank they do. And they also use their sense of smell. Even though this sheep couldn't see, it can still smell and it knew that this lady wasnt going to harm her since most of them are used to being sheared
Shannon Rickard2 ай бұрын
@shadowsinmymind9 even domesticated sheep don't grow full fleece on their face. These baby doll sheep are bred that way for some reason, and it's ridiculous. I'll never understand why people breed animals to intentionally be uncomfortable.
shadowsinmymind92 ай бұрын
@Shannon Rickard I agree. Its not ok to breed animals to have wool on their face or to be born with abnormalities simply because it " looks cute"

I sleep with a flat sheet and rugs (wool blankets) and year round I use three on my bed. A very dense wool one, a more mohair-y wool one and a rather open crocheted one. Depending on how cold or warm the night is I add or take off a rug, leaving me perfectly comfortable year round! This is how my parents beds were made up when they were growing up here in Ireland
