Then they'll say you're idiot and all kinds of stuff although you know who the idiot is. Step 2 : Wait for them to call the police. When the police arrives they'll tell their stupid story and wait till they're done meanwhile act like you are scared. Step 3 : When they are done smile and laugh a little and tell them you have dash cam.

Had this happen to me in SF before the slip and falls were even popular. Scared the bejesus outta me. A bum on a bike fell onto my car that had been legally parked for 3 to 4 minutes at a metered space. A man in the shop saw it all, came out of his store, and gave the dude "the bum's rush".

Firstly, do not tell the scammers you have the dashcam. Let them call the cops. Once they tell the police their version of the incident, THEN let the officer know about the dashcam. That way, the scammer will not only get charged for attempted insurance fraud, but for submitting a false police report. Additionally, I think you can then take them to court, and you'll easily win the case.

Some years ago my Dad saw a man go behind a car that was slowly reversing, then hit the car and fall to the ground. The lady driver was very upset but my Dad told the guy to get up. The man still tried to say he was injured and my Dad gave him the option of getting up or being kicked up. He didn't think my Dad would carry out the threat, but he did.
