The drinking bird brought back so many memories of my grandparents house. They had one on the kitchen windowsill, way back in the early '70s. Us grandkids thought it was pretty cool!

I had cheap toy versions of the sphere over 30 years ago. Without the weight to keep it upright it creates a neat effect where the exterior ball spins sooner and faster than the interior ball, then stops later. It is a neat demonstration of friction and momentum.

The legit one is honestly very cool. If you're not a science guy and don't know or particularly care what perpetual motion machines are, then that item that can seamlessly throw balls over and over again as long as its tuned on is a nice thing to have on display

Mova globes are incredibly amazing

That first perp machine was criminal. The MOVA Globe was wonderful. It's a whole lot more than I can spend. The second perpetual motion machine was very cool. The bird...that's been around for quite a while, but I never knew how it worked. Thanks for filling me in. 👍🤙

I'm very impressed with both ... Just not the junk you got the first try. Paying 'more' is okay when you know the item is quality and has some trick engineering which both clearly do. The secret switch in the wood is awesome for showing off the "magic", but there should be a place to store the ball that is not near the kicker so you can grab the ball while turning on like it is always ready to do its thing and the only reason it is not running is that it will drive you crazy. The globe is stunning and has some serious magic engineering as well. One would assume the machine inside must rotate with the globe since it is taking solar energy from the surface of the "earth" inside. But how then does it apply torque to itself? If it does not spin with the globe what is supporting it and how does it get power without winding up wires? Brushes? Not likely since the globe seems so free inside the fluid? Both are worth every penny in my opinion.

I got the marble perpetual motion machine for Christmas and luckily it came as the wooden one and it works so well!

If a machine completely hides the real source of power, then it's considered as the best 'self perpetual machine'

That MovaGlobe thing is a modern take on some old toys we had in the 80s. They used to have eyeballs inside them and you could roll them and they looked like they were slippy slimy eyeballs sliding across the floor :D

Always is annoying to see cheap knockoffs of things that barely work. Marble machines are great fun though! The last one is more of a piece of art than a toy, truly a wonderful little thing. Definitely worth the price for the people who are into those things.

I won a few prizes at an arcade that functioned like that globe thing. They were small enough to sit inside the palm of your hand. One was an eye ball and the other an 8 ball. I remember rolling them and being so amazed too lol

They've had those little dunking birds since I was a child way back in the 50's. I didn't know they were still around. I was fascinated by them and would stand and watch them while my parents shopped.

I remember watching you back in 2015 when you only had like I think a few thousand subs (correct me if I'm wrong it was a long time ago) so I was kind of shocked by how much you changed also I really like your channel 😀

The piece that didn't fit on the first product probably needs to go under the launching rail as a support. That's why it kept on falling out of the bowl.

you know how perpetual motion works it's not hard to make, but the hard part is figuring out where to hide the batteries and/or editing the video so it looks legit even though it isn't

8:30 The curved path on the ball machine is known as the branchiostone it,s actually the fastest path down an object can take to go from point a to point b taken gravity into consideration So its not only the acceleration of the electromagnet down below but also the acute curvature of the path following the branchiostone that pushes the ball into the hole

The hardest part to making perpetual motion is finding a battery that lasts forever... Cool novelty toy though, I was hoping they made one based on the Earths rotation to power it (but likely you'd just end up with another tall pendulum swing).

Admiring the wooden perpetual simulator, then seeing that I’ve actually got 1 of his fidget toys 🤔. It was a gift but truly fun and interesting. Very well made. So I may just need to order th3 simulator.

I just rediscovered your channel from the most obscure, hazy memory I had of a review channel that did an ice bucket challenge which had a whole construction machine drop water on them. This was a video I watched in my early childhood... among many more of yours. As of writing this, I'm graduating my senior year of high school in a few months and the fact that your channel is still very successful having lived through youtube's golden age and beyond is simply amazing. (sorry for the run on sentence) In essence, DaveHax might simply be a nostalgic memory to me but it's format and content that continues to live no matter the audience! If I didn't see and watched this video, I really thought that perpetual motion machines go forever. They really hide the batteries and trick people into an optical illusion. Nice machines though.
