Pretty accurate. I also think Pedri is half Xavi and half Iniesta. Xavi was pure brain and Iniesta was pure magic. Both with capabilities to do the other one job if sometimes required. I see Pedri in the middle, not as "extreme" as the other two legends. Not saying that's better or worse at all, he's just more equaled in his gameplay. They all so good and unique anyway.

Many forget that Xavi and Iniesta weren't starters for Barça at this age.. I've never seen young players as developed as Gavi and Pedri.. Pedri especially suprises me, he could improve nothing else in his game and be the best midfielder in the world for the next decade and a half

Actually we don't see many players this young with this quality and maturity playing. We maybe see no more than 10 in a decade, think about it. We are talking about top notch quality, not just above average. The first and easiest example that comes to mind is Messi which was a monster being so young, also Cristiano. You can say Pedri can eat in the same table, about the level showed on premature ages, although he's a different player, and again, that's so unique and rare. He's just too good for his age.

The similarity is actually incredible, Pedri plays like Iniesta and Gavi have the same style of play as Xavi, plus both are really playing for the club badge and giving their 100%, we are lucky.

Gavi is cool a bit younger but damn Pedri always gives such a sense of security in the midfield, you cannot take the ball away from him. I don't think there is a better midfielder in the world right now than Pedri.

This is why I changed Real Madrid for Barcelona in 2016, and I could have done it before. The likes of Messi and Iniesta painted footballing masterpieces impossible to ignore. It's more than a club, it is talent, art, and an identity of play. The team from the capital won a lot since, but who knows? Maybe time will prove my point and we will see timeless football again in the colours of Barcelona.

@Ayoo Yeah mostly I agree. But as a player Gavi seems to dribble more, he just needs confidence, I'm sure later he will. Also Gavi van easily play on the left side as Iniesta did. Just look his position in this last Clasico. And Pedri played on the right as Xavi. Just my point if view.

It is not an exageration, I follow barcelona since 2005 and Xavi and Iniesta were not even close to what Pedri and Gavi are doing at the same age. Their maturity and mentality are remarkable. This proves that even when nowadays young folks may have a lot of negative stimules and terrible messages from the system itself (goverments, schools, tv, etc) the kids still came way more prepared mentally for elite football, as long as they have been a professionalism and responsability.

La Liga is certainly a breathing ground for midfielders, Gavi and Pedri are really good examples of that, don't rush them, still some way to go. Apart from FC Barcelona, a lot of other teams in LaLiga are producing really talented midfielders again, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Valencia and A. Madrid to name a few.

Gavi deliberately shields the ball from you, and will not give you the excuse of a foul, but rather play advantage when your team thinks the ref will call a foul. Pedri deliberately keeps you at a distance from the ball so you won't even get the slightest touch. It's unfair to opposing teams to have them both on the same side! Superb combo!!!

The biggest criticism I can give for these 2 are well they are naive in they way they sometimes don't trust in their own abilities. This is prevalent passing between the lines for a break away player. They're hesitating and I see this with de Jong. Lately it is getting better. High hopes
