Good job young lady and congratulations on clearing this hurdle. From the little I know about you through all the videos posted by GSL, I had no doubts you would do just fine. One more hurdle to go, and for me, the driving part was the easiest part of the whole ordeal. Believe in yourself. You got this!!

Years and years ago, my father (an ex Seattle cop), taught me to drive. He was a good teacher and the day I turned sixteen I went in, took both my tests and got my license. You'll do fine on your coming overall driving ability part of your test and you'll be a responsible and conscientious driver. Good luck!

We moved to Idaho about 6 years ago, for a short time, and I was very nervous to take the written test. I hadn’t taken a written DMV test in close to 40 years. I studied like crazy. My husband took his test first and then told me I could skip questions if I was unsure and come back to them. That took a lot of the pressure off. I’m so glad you passed!!!

Way to go, girlie!!! As another homeschool Mama in Idaho, I was cheering you on big time! My oldest two went into the written test without enough preparation and a bit too much confidence. Kudos to you for preparing well the first time! You didn’t have to do the test a second time! My third teenage driver is SO excited to get to drive for real after he completes his instructional hours tomorrow. He’ll get a kick out of seeing your experiences and *hopefully* follow your example and not his brothers. 😂😊 Again, we’ll done and prayers for calm nerves while practicing and preparing for the actual driving portion. You’ll be licensed and free to drive before you know it!!!

I just accidentally found this video and watched it. Congratulations on passing your test... My daughter had the same confidence issue you are having about driving, I know that her mom made her scared about driving when she was trying to teach her the practical part... I have a very different way to do it... I simply took her out in the country had her get behind the wheel and told her to take me home... She just looked at me in disbelief because I simply sat back and stared out the window... She drove around for a few hours until she found her way back to the house... She started out very slow and extra cautious I could tell that she was scared but I didn't say anything just let her go at her own pace... I only had to give her a little help twice and both of those were the location of things on the dash of my truck because she did not drive it... She was relaxed and had her confidence by the time we got home.... Lol her mom was unhappy because I didn't just tell her how to drive and were to turn ( you know that whole micromanaging thing that makes people nervous ) and my daughter passed her driving test the first time and she said it was because I trusted her enough to just set there and be there if she needed anything... Yup proud old man! You got this...

Congratulations Nevaeh! There is nothing wrong with over studying. Down the road things you studied may come in handy. Remember knowledge is power. You are correct in thinking that the hardest part is yet to come. Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle can be daunting, but you can do this. You are an intelligent, down to earth gal and when you put your mind to it you will get it done. When you get behind the wheel take a deep breath and think to yourself, I can do this, I can do anything and you will. Enjoy the process.

Congratulations on passing the test !!! Practice driving as much as is possible, starting, stopping, turning, and parking, at home and every trip to town, and stay on roads with slower speeds first, and then faster ones, to build your confidence. By the time you get to drive for your test, you will have less fear and more confidence. My driving test went well, but the tester wouldn't pass me until I drove every day for two weeks. My mom told him she had to work, so I couldn't drive every day, and he told her to make time for me to do it before or after her work, because I needed to feel more comfortable behind the wheel. I didn't actually mess up any, but he made a judgment call. That was in the mid-seventies. My neighbor never even took a driving test 2 years ago, just the written portion, because they waived it due to "covid". This is in North Carolina, and have now gone back to requiring both again. I'm excited for you, Nevaeh, and hope for the best for you. You are beautiful, and so is your personality. God bless ! ❤

What your brother might not realize is by helping you he's helping prepare himself for when it's his turn to test for his license. It's great how you all really support each other. You have a big advantage over a lot of other people since you have that dune buggy you've been driving around in, and can practice in as well. Treat everything on the farm as if you were out on the real roads. It's all about safety, letting people around you know what you're doing, not over reacting, and anticipating what others around you could do so you can react accordingly. The more everyone adheres to the rules of the road, the more everyone else knows what to expect and how to react or to recognize when someone is being dangerous as to be given more distance for your own safety. You'll get through this, and I'm sure you dad will have good advise given his past employment.

I flunked my written test the 1st time due to anxiety. Back in my day we had drivers Ed as a required semester in school. We all took our test together in the school cafeteria. I knew my handbook front to back but I suffered text anxiety. I cried and was able to go the next day and retake it in the dmv. I passed with a 100. I had summer driving with the driver Ed teacher and no problem passing the driving part. Unfortunately today they don’t require kids here in Texas to do it that way anymore. You can pay privately an ungodly amount of money or do parent taught. Take your time practice and look up if there is any videos for your area for the driving test route. That’s what I did a couple months ago for my stepdaughter and she had no problem when it came to her driving part. You can do it and nerves are good just don’t overthink it!

Yay, Nevaeh! Congratulations!! With all the quizzing Kaimani helped with, you have helped prepare him for his test in a few short years. Win-win. Driving is intimidating… at first! But, you got this!Practice driving in all kinds of weather and in all kinds of vehicles: the truck, van, and maybe dad can teach you to drive the tractor. If you get an opportunity to drive a standard/stick, do it. It’s all going to seem hard and scary at first, but start slow. Drive to the end of the driveway, then go a little further each time. There’s no better feeling than the confidence you’ll have knowing you can get yourself out of any situation because you’re familiar with a few types/sizes of vehicles.

More excited for me. It took me that long to pass bc coming from a small US territory island - Guam the laws are like USA on our traffic Laws, but did not have freeways, overpass, railroad crossroads stops lights, road signs etc etc .., so I was not familiar of CA freeways, traffic laws, merging, entrance, exits rds, etc etc & had to learn as a passenger what things meant on the roads of California … so don’t feel so bad, once you pass, it will all make sense to you & will be proud of yourself 🤗

Just get behind the wheel and drive with your parent in the car. Do it a lot so you get comfortable. The driver test will be easier than you think... much like what you experienced in the written test. They'll check for your use of turn signals, following distance behind other cars, stopping at lights, making proper turns, and parallel parking (that's the tricky one).

Congratulations on passing the written part of your test. I recently just left my job at a BMV so I use to see a lot of nervous teenager’s and adult’s taking the written test. I would set them up on the test and calm their nerves. I would make small jokes and tell them this test is just like a school test, don’t over think it and relax. When your nervous and stress that’s when you will make mistakes. I’m very happy for you! As for the driving part, seems you have lots of space to practice parallel parking. And parallel parking is not as hard as one thinks it is. Just pull up the car in front of spot you are going to part in. Line up your door jam with their’s and then start backing up and turning the wheel into the spot you want to park into. When you have you front bumper at their back bumper you start turning your wheel the opposite direction. P.S. why they call it a BMV in Ohio and may in other states. BMV’s are privately owned and ran but state rules and regulations . DMV’s are state owned and ran by state employees.

That's a great first step into your future and is well deserved. There is nothing like the feeling of freedom you have when you are behind the wheel, very happy for you.

Do not worry, I am 66. When I took the practical part of the test, I failed three times. I finally passed. That is only because the state trooper did the parallel parking for me. Oh, I forgot, my mother took me for the final test and not my dad. Yup, my dad was intense. Your dad is much more laid back. You will do great.

Great video Nevaeh! Congrats on passing the first test. You're very fortunate to live in a semi rural area, it's much nicer to practice driving if you don't live in a large metropolis with awful freeway traffic. I took my kids to large parking lots when the stores were closed. Great place to practice.

Having a driving license doesn't open up an endless range of opportunities, you do. A license is a tool, having a job to buy a car is a tool, everything in life should be earned, you'll respect it more. You have a great deal of common sense, your parents have taught you well, it top is a tool. Learn to use the tools that have been taught to you. Keep singing, love your voice. Love ya'll ❤️
