I feel that the Find N2 gets soo many things right! Whether it's the hardware, form factor, great optimization and decent camera system. Indeed it's biggest drawback is that weird squared aspect ratio. But for me it's not a deal breaker, and I think the N2 is great overall! as a small phones fan this is the only foldable I am interested in. No release in Europe is a deal breaker however. Hope it will get here officially at some point

The only foldable that actually made me want one so far. I would take this display aspect over the fold 4 style aspect all day. Just way more practical imho. Also fully useable with just the front display as a phone with zero compromises.

It will be very interesting if you could share your experiences overall with each major android OEM skin in terms of software (optimization, overall UI, updates)

Deep down, I always hated the elongated 20:9 aspect ratio most phones have now these days. I miss the 16:9 AR as it feels more natural to me. Your personal tastes may differ though. I would love to have this and use the outer screen for day-to-day tasks and only use the inner screen for travels as a media device. Come on Oppo, make this available worldwide. I love that green colour! I don't game on my phone, mostly using it to read articles and watch movies so the shorter aspect ratio is less of a bummer for me. This is a strong candidate as my next phone.

The small form factor is really nice and the camera performance is very good.

Out of all videos whereby tech KZhomers reviewing Find N2, your review is definitely the most useful. I wasn't sure whether is it possible to do vlog in 4K with those 3 rear lenses instead of front facing camera when the phone is unfolded just like you did back in Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 review. Also while some people are not a fan of awkwardly kinda squarish screen when unfolded, I am in the minority since I can use the unfolded screen for retro game emulation (4 by 3 aspect ratio) & with that powerful SD 8+ Gen 1 chipset, I can run most GC & PS2 titles. Of course, if I were to run Android games, cloud-based gaming & widescreen emulation like PSP, I would prefer to do so when the phone is folded.

I'm an iphone user, but looking all these android phones, foldables, actually makes me think that android is leading this market more than apple does.

Amazing to know oppo device finally has ubs c out, and u mention it will affect people that interest ppl that loves using usb c out. And hopefully they fix the ratio for most available apps, so it'll maximise the wide screen form factor And too bad its chinese only. Maybe the future series will be available globally :)

Excellent review as I would expect from an Aussie reviewer. Thinking about tests and test results; the numbers are getting to a level that has become meaningless to a human being on top tier phones. It doesn't matter that a phone has 150 more grexcels or 20,000 blob points than another phone because in use it works perfectly for a human much like 65 billions colours on the latest TV. Basically these are numbers are calculated with programs that tell you what it can do because in real world use, no one can tell the differences. I am excluding Nits here. The next step will probably be 180Hz and then battery capacity chases that and must have cooler chips etc, etc, etc. And here I am happy with 60Hz on a 120Hz capable phone and Techtablets, I do get great battery capacity . . . A photographic expert once told me 5mp was sufficient for portrait photography. Where are we now? 50mp. Useless, and before you say blow up, how many people do you know that have actually blown up a photo to poster size? Ten? Five? One or none? For 99.99% of us even 10mp is overkill. I would rather engineers work on better night imaging, stabilised video/images and overall, larger sensors with overall less tweaking by the software so I really, really do get natural images.. Forget the megapixel race. Professional photographers use "proper cameras" for outside work not their daily smart phone. Even in that space the megapixel race is ongoing due only to peoples misguided perception that they will get a better image from more pixel density but in reality it's more about what's behind the camera than in it. I have a Fold 3 in a drawer and will get around to selling it. The big screen was great laying in bed watching NF or Prime or Kayo but daily use I wasn't using the big screen and had to deal with the narrow front screen for texting and that was . . . somewhat difficult. I use an Oppo Find Pro now and it does me just right, no more folds or flips for me. Thanks for the review mate, much appreciated and sorry for the rant but people have to get a bit more objective.

Yes, smaller is better. For me, this is the only foldable that ergonomically and functionally makes sense.

Its time for a new phone for me. And the N2 is on my top of the list. This is the 25th review I watch about this phone 😅. I have a 5 year old mi mix 2 with still the chinese softvare. My bigest fear is this will be have the same issues than my mix 2. Not working europe aps properly like the Google map lacation info, waze same, and notifications from gmail... I heard that oppo not planning to release this model in europe with the europe softvare support. My bigest question is : Can I buy this phone or will have issues with, and better chose an europe brand?

It's a bit sad Oppo is not releasing it globally. It's the only foldable that I wouldn't mind getting.

Had the original N model, CN firmware spoilt it a bit for me, had trouble enabling the notifications and aggressive battery management caused some issues too, took me quite a while to get it set up as i wanted it, unable to change launcher etc ( not a deal breaker that though ) hoping this one is a bit better as i loved the form factor of the original one, nice review, appreciate it, have a great New Year!

if it had 90hz display setting i would think about it as that would help with power and performance tuning!

Hi, great review, thanks. I'm seriously tempted to import one to the UK, but I am curious to know if this has a factory fitted 'screen protector'? This has been a point of weakness for me on the flip3, but I can easily have it replaced at a Samsung store, that may not be an option with an imported Oppo.

The world should appreciate really...the technology of South Korea and China to build such devices. The brain racking engineering and the device design challenges that have to be overcome to build such a gadget is mind boggling.

Really nice device for business. Almost mandatory for day trading or working with multiple exchanges when on the go. Far nicer than carrying two phones around. I've never found split screen use very efficient on a normal phone although it works ok for some things.

OPPO is a bit of a secret gem. Oppo find x5 pro was my go too phone of 2022 despite having access to all phones. People need to have a little try of Oppo, absolutely superb in all fairness. My Oppo find x5 pro when updated to android 13 is faster , smoother and less micro stutters than my pixel 7 pro.

Of these foldable phones I really don't like the outer screen. The easthetic of the phone, to me, it feels not nice. Also I don't like the fact you could scratch the display if you place it on a surface, cover or not. I like much more, esthetically, the Surface Duo 2 phone, for example - ok, it's not a real foldable, but I like the fact it doesn't have an outer screen 😎- and I also like more the flip phones. I don't argue about all the specs of the phone, if not the price. Thanks for the review, Chris!

Nice review! I still believe foldables are way too overpriced...samsung, oppo and all the rest are just TOO overpriced to justify a purchase, and that's why they don't sell a lot of them.

cons should include no ip rating on all competing foldables until they catchup to this feature, this is a standard flagship feature that always gets a free pass on Chinese flagships mosly priced similarly or more expensive. the standard you walk past is the standard you accept this shouldn't be ignored so commonly by tech reviewers inclined to review Chinese phones, my first Huawei phone was their first ip 68 phone same for xiaomi.

The square aspect ⬛️ in 4/4 of this Oppo once unfolded means that it has no interest in my opinion. No waterproofing, no wireless charging, $1100 in China so surely around $1400 - $1500 outside China... Also, how can we achieve this level of engineering without thinking for a moment about the positioning of the speakers which is a nonsense, not to mention that of the power button / fingerprint and the volume button positioned too high and not ergonomic at all (regarding the positioning of the buttons, it is valid for the Samsung Flip 4) 🤦🏽‍♂️ The Honor Magic Vs (the version with the pencil) is currently the only one that can really compete with Samsung's Fold 4, this Honor is currently perhaps the only Fold to have almost ideal external and internal screen proportions . The Oppo Find N2 with its too wide external screen is equivalent to superimposing 2 iPhones 6 Plus, seriously it's neither ergonomic nor practical for one-handed use. Ps: I remain convinced that all these Folds should have a screen like the Oppo Find N Flip's exterior screen next to the rear photo sensors.

movies and shows is 9:16 and in fold 4 and oppo n2 what the actual size for the screen without black bars is it like 6 inch? i am torn between fold or ultra for media consumption. ultra will take all the screen 6.8 inch full whiteout black bars.

i juste buy one but dont understand when i receive a whatsapp message, my screen turn on, and that's all.... no bell, and no vibrations, i dont understand why, i check all my settings and all is good.
