Scorpions, Death Feigning Beetles, Mexican Jumping Beans, and so much more! Over the past 100 days, I documented my little chunk of the desert. Watch as it transforms from a barren wasteland into a thriving ecosystem!

I don't normally comment twice. But this was legitimately the best thing I have ever watched in 2023. Please do more ecosystems when you find the time. I loved the dune scorpion's ultraviolet light and the blue beetles. I love how you weren't afraid to truly simulate life in the desert. And the Jericho plant expansion was the coolest event because that was just straight beautiful! Keep it up, the bell is on!

I love how the drying up and rain cycle works, not only is it pure genius and amazing, it’s also pretty close to how some of these creatures would actually live in the wild, I find it astounding, how you put so much effort into simulating a desert environment.

i have been thinking of doing something like this too, unfortunately, blue death feigning beetles and mexican jumping beans are impossible to get in the netherlands, add to that that our best invertebrate shop closed recently, making it harder to get scorpions and isopods. the only invertebrate sellers left almost exlusively sell tarantulas. i'm going to need to find some local community to actually start building this.

theres literally no way somone said: "I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 6:34 that part was just so truly heart touching words can not describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece , I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the bacon go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul , and I don't think I can ever be the same. this bacon has changed my entire mental state , I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. i have forgiven all my enemies and now I am a man of a pacifist life. I will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the bacon is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on bacon. hail bacon. hail bacon. The spinning bacon, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a bacon do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathizing her love for this rotating bacon. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any piece of bacon I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing. This is one of the greatest work from a piece of bacon I have ever seen especially on 57:42.I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was at 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. The graphics, the animation, the music, so much thought was put into it. This has remined me that you can do anything you put your mind to. Not even mentioning the memories, this makes me feel like an infant again, just laying my eyes on this beautiful masterpiece gives me all the good feelings in life. I also understand what happiness is again from this. Not even to mention the most incredible part that is 2:10. Bacon spinning has changed my life for the better. SUPER cool! As someone who's a fan of reptile husbandry (especially snakes) I know that it's generally seen as irresponsible to keep venomous (sometimes called "hot") snakes as it's considered unsafe for the snake and the handler. So I was concerned seeing a venomous scorpion being kept, but after some quick internet searching I learned the dune scorpion poses pretty much no risk to humans. Only deadly to other insects! 😁

Hello. I just subscribed over this amazing video. I have a question for you: How did you make the the rain setup? What kind of tools did you use to design that? I'm so intrigued by this design that I think I will be making one of my own someday.

In part 2 you should put another apex predetor that competes with the scorpion like a Desert gecko maybe a Desert snake like a Kenyan sand Boa although the Kenyan sand boa is really big slightly less longer than the Bearded dragon but the Kenyan sand boa is less wide

Hi. Very interesting video, thank you! The blue death feigning beetle was new to me. And many other things in it, i guess... Was nice to see the scorpion glowing and how it acted when the beetle approached it. "... something almost as terrifying as my mother-in-law" part got me laughing little bit 😁

Really nice video’s, I also like that the eco systems are getting better and better and the tanks bigger and bigger. Sad to see that there arent that many video’s yet 😅

I won't lie fully panicked when I thought you were serious about the bearded dragon! I own one and the tank being too small is only the tip of the iceberg on how unsuitable and dangerous a home like this would have been. That aside, absolutely gorgeous set up for these little critters!!! I love the ecosystem videos because it's something that takes a lot of patience and knowledge to get balanced but is so beautiful and worth it when you are able to achieve it!!
